JAN AMINOFF, attorney

Jan Aminoff graduated from the University of Helsinki (LL.M.) in 1969 and was trained at the Bench in 1973. He has been a member of the Bar since 1974.

His former employments are with Skopbank Ltd, lawyer (1970-73); Hannes Snellman Attorneys at Law, associate lawyer (1973-80); Ahola & Aminoff Attorneys at Law, partner (1980-84), Roschier-Holmberg & Waselius, Attorneys Ltd.; partner, head of transport law department and litigation department (1984-1998)

Jan Aminoff has written the following articles: "Registration of Vessels, Mortgages on Vessels", IBA Handbook on Maritime Law 1983; "Aluksen ulosmittauksesta ja myymisestä pakkohuutokaupalla" (Distraint and Sale of a Vessel on Public Auction), Finnish Maritime Law Association, Essays on Maritime Law 1983; "Arrest of Vessels", IBA Maritime Law Handbook 1994; "Registration of Aircraft" 1991 (revised 2005) and "Aircraft Liens and Detention Rights", FT Law & Tax, Aircraft Finance.

He is a member of the IBA, the Finnish Maritime Law Association (CMI) (Board Member) the Sea Transport Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce (Finnish Branch) and a board member of several foreign-owned subsidiaries in Finland.
